Introduction to the Sciences of Qira’at and Tajweed

A specialized educational seminar presented in Marseille, France, delivered by Dr. Mohamed Attia, PhD in Qur’anic Studies from the Islamic University of Madinah and certified in the Ten Qira’at with authentic chains of transmission.

The seminar explored the foundations of Qur’anic recitation sciences, the origins and development of Qira’at, the relationship between the seven Ahruf and the canonical recitations, as well as practical applications of Tajweed and selected Qira’at variations. Participants were introduced to the scholarly legacy of Qur’anic transmission and the methodologies of the great reciters throughout Islamic history.
